Long Canyon Trailhead is located on the Desert National Wildlife Refuge, about 1 hour north of town.

From town, drive out to Corn Creek Field Station and continue east 50 yards to a T-intersection where Alamo Road goes left, and Mormon Well Road goes right. Turn right onto Mormon Well Road and drive south then east and finally north for a total of 9.3 miles. The road winds through Yucca Gap and around to the east side of the Sheep Range. Stop at a large parking area and campsite on the left where the road bends hard to the right. Park here; this is the trailhead.
