General: Western Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio rutulus) are recognized by the black and yellow wings. Hindwing with yellow marginal spots

Taxonomy: Family: Parnassians and Swallowtails (Papilionidae); Subfamily: Swallowtails (Papilioninae).

Comments: This species occurs throughout the western United States from Canada to Mexico. These specimens were photographed at a spring down inside the Grand Canyon.
