Shasta Blue (Plebejus shasta)

General: Shasta Blues (Plebejus shasta) are small butterflies that are sexually dimorphic. Males are light blue above with a dark border; females are darker. Both genders with dark bars on fore and hind wing; gray under with black spots.

Taxonomy: Family: Gossamer-wing Butterflies (Lycaenidae); Subfamily: Blues (Polyommatinae).
