Bighorn Sheep Tick (Dermacentor hunteri)

General: Ticks and mites are tiny to small creatures known for thier parasitic tendencies. Most mites and ticks are harmless to humans, and but a few species of ticks are harmful.

Ticks and mites have 8 legs (4 pairs) as adults, and the body plan generally is oval without differentiation among body segments.
