Hybrid Striped Bass (Morone saxatilis)

General: Hybrid Striped Bass (Morone saxatilis) are non-native game fish introduced into larger bodies of water for sport fishing. They are voracious predators, eating anything they can catch, including native fish species.

Hybrid striped bass have a streamlined, silvery body with dark stripes that run the length of the body. In native striped bass, the stripes are unbroken, but in hybrids, they become jumbled towards the middle of the body and on the back.
