Lucy's Warbler (Oreothlypis luciae)

General Description: Lucy's Warblers (Oreothlypis luciae) are tiny gray warblers with a short tail and a rusty patch on the rump. Males also have a rusty cap.

Taxonomy: Passeriformes, Parulidae.

Favored Habitat: Brushy desert thickets.

Where to Find: Look for these warblers in brushy desert areas, such as in catclaw acacia and mesquite thickets along washes. Expect to see them at Corn Creek during spring and summer.

Comments:

Taxonomy: Formerly Vermivora luciae.
