General Description: Buff-breasted Flycatchers (Empidonax fulvifrons) are the smallest North American flycatchers. They are brown above, cinnamon below, and have bold white eyerings and two white wingbars. The bill is short, and the lower mandible is orange.

Taxonomy: Passeriformes, Tyrannidae, Tyranninae.

Where to Find: Don't look for Buff-breasted Flycatchers around Las Vegas. Rather, look for them in pine-oak woodlands with a shrubby understory in southeastern Arizona and southwestern New Mexico south into Central America.
