General Description: Black-throated Sparrows (Amphispiza bilineata) have a black head and throat, and bold white eyelines
and mustache (gular) lines. The breast is clear gray. The tail has some white, but it is hard to see. The back and wings are unmarked. Juveniles are duller overall, lack the black throat, and have streaks on the chest.
Favored Habitat: Desert scrub. |
