Rock Wren (Salpinctes obsoletus)

General Description: These little gray birds are the common wren of the desert. They are gray with a long bill and often stand atop a boulder and bob up and down before flying off. If you get a good look, note the rusty rump, the fine streaks on the breast, and the slight eyeline. As they fly away, watch for the buffy band at the end of the tail.
