General Description: Greater Yellowlegs (Tringa melanoleuca) are long-legged shore birds that are mottled gray above and white under, with a fairly long bill and bright yellow legs.

Taxonomy: Charadriiformes, Scolopacidae, Scolopacinae.

Favored Habitat: Shallow marshes and mudflats with islands for resting and breeding.
