Greater White-fronted Goose (Anser albifrons)

General Description: Greater White-fronted Geese (Anser albifrons) are sexually monomorphic. The body is gray overall except for a white ring around the bill and a white belly. In adults, the breast and upper belly are gray with black mottling; juveniles are paler and lack the mottling.

Favored Habitat: Ponds and marshes; places with grass.

Where to Find: Greater White-fronted Geese are rare around Las Vegas, but look for them while birding at the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve, the Pahranagat Valley and the Overton Wildlife Management Area.
