Feral Domestic Geese (Anser domesticus)

General Description: Feral domestic geese (Anser domesticus) are geese that escaped or were released from captivity and now live "wild" in local ponds and lakes. Most domestic geese are white or gray, but they come in a motley range of mixes.

Favored Habitat: Ponds in parks and neighborhoods.

Where to Find: Neighborhood ponds and city parks (e.g., Lorenzi ParkSunset Park, and Floyd Lamb State Park).

Comments: Be sure to bring stale bread or popcorn.
