General: Northern Bog Violet (Viola nephrophylla) is a perennial forb with long-petioled leaves that roll into a funnel shape. The flowers are purple.

Northern Bog Violet is an uncommon component of wet vegetation communities on bajadas into the lower mountains in the Upper Sonoran (Pinyon-Juniper Woodland) and Transition (Yellow Pine Forest) life zones

Around Las Vegas, look for Northern Bog Violet at springs above Cold Creek in the Spring Mountains.
