General: Small Wirelettuce (Stephanomeria exigua) is a perennial forb that grows as a wiry little plant with tiny flowers that is easy to overlook. This plant is a member of the sunflower family, but it only has ray flowers, and usually only four of these per flowerhead.

Around Las Vegas, look for Small Wirelettuce during spring in the Lower Sonoran (Creosote-Bursage Flats) and Upper Sonoran (Mojave Desert Scrub) life zones.
