Oregon Trip, Days 12-16 -- November 27 to December 1, 2011

Days 12-16. Portland, OR.

Portland is wet too, but most days were partly sunny, or at least not always raining. I had a nice visit with Dad and Joe, and we were able to get out on two hikes. On the third day, we did a bit of the Erikson trail in Forest Park (off Germantown Road), the famous natural area near downtown Portland, and on the fifth day, we did a few miles on the Banks-Vernonia Trail, an old railroad grade with trestle bridges west of Portland.

I also got out with my brother John and his wife. She has been taking singing lessons, and the class went for a field trip, which I was invite to join. It was an unusual evening for someone like me, but my sister-in-law sure put the others to shame.
