The Red Rock Overlook Trailhead is located in Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, but outside the Scenic Loop area. The trailhead is about 35 minutes west of Las Vegas.
From town, drive out to Red Rocks.
From West Charleston Blvd at Highway I-215, the "Western Beltway" (Table 1, Site 0516), drive west on Charleston Blvd (Highway 159) out into the desert. Pass the turnoff into the Scenic Loop Area (Site 0519), and continue west on Charleston Blvd. for 1.7 miles to the Red Rock Overlook and picnic
area on the right (north) side of the road (Site 0533). Drive down to the far (east) end of the parking area. Park here; this is the trailhead.

From the other direction, Red Rock Overlook is 0.5 miles north of the exit from the Scenic Loop Road (Site 0532).
The Red Rock Overlook Trailhead provides access to a picnic area, restrooms, grand views, and a fully accessible, paved trail to the top of a low hill. Hikers may also hike down the hill north of the parking area and out into the desert.
