Overview

The Stanley B Springs Trail runs up an old road to an area of springs at the confluence of two canyon. The confluence is a good place to relax in the shade and watch the many birds that come in for water. In the east fork above the confluence, water trickling from a grated mine attracts birds while the mine shaft provides habitat for forest bats.

From the confluence beneath the mining claim sign, a use-trail ascends the narrow canyon to the east. The route stays in the bottom of the canyon, passing a little water slide in the limestone to a grated mine on the left wall. Water trickles from this mine while bats sleep somewhere back in the damp shadows. A few yards farther up the canyon, a second grated mine can be found above a tailings pile.
