B-52H Stratofortress Bombers are huge jets with eight engines (in four pods of two) and a payload of 70,000 pounds. These long-range bombers were built to carry nuclear weapons during the Cold War as a deterrence to the Soviet Union. Fortunately, they have only dropped conventional bombs.
